Does this strike anyone else as flat out wrong?

Now, I'm an atheist, but I was raised Irish Catholic, and I do remember most of what was preached to me. I have no recollection of EVER hearing a priest tell me to, or invoke a prayer to do harm to an enemy. Whatever happened to turning the other cheek? This seems to fly in the face of all that I thought Christianity was about. I feel bad for people who believe, it must be very disheartening to see there belief set hijacked by evil.

Holy crap! That is feckin' crazy.

It seems there a lot of us atheists are former Irish Catholics. I'm a twofer actually, I was Irish Catholic, then I was forced to be United Methodist. Now I'm glad to be an atheist.

Yeah, my wife was raised Jehova's Witness, now that's a shitshow. Her parents are still deep into it. One of my biggest fears is leaving my son with them and having them try and indoctrinate him. I know that I would put my foot down and have a word with them on it, I just hope they have the good sense to leave it alone.
